How legal is online Poker?

The fact is that : I don’t Know as I am not a poker attorney. This may not be considered as a legal advice from my side. There are a number of events that might have focused attention of people towards online wagering. The first thing that most of us have to understand is that poker can in no way be compared to sports betting. It can never be compared to any of the random chance games like roulette or even craps. The fact is that not a single person has yet been charged for playing online poker on the internet. But this does not mean that no one may ever be charged in the near future. According to the laws most of the countries prohibit internet gambling. Most of the wise sites states that gambling online is a civil offence.

The law states that any person who makes use of wire communications for gambling or even wagering commits an offence in the eye of the law. The law is open to betting, sports events, commerce, wagers or even information. Under no circumstances it states that poker falls in this category. Playing online poker can not be related to betting or even wagering. So the very first act is that poker can not be included in this category.

Most of the countries state that transfer of money to these online gambling sites may be counted as illegal. But the condition may only be valid for big transfer amounts. So, till the fund involved does not exceed the limits of the online casinos, gambling can be enjoyed by anyone online. Playing poker online does not fall under the category of betting or even wagering so it means that one can enjoy the fun of playing online poker at their own convenience.
